Overview

Carter & Spencer Group, a leading Queensland-based supplier of fresh produce, engaged Egghead Creative to design a unique label design for their fresh pineapple and ginger punnet exports in celebration of the Year of the Snake. The goal was to create a visually striking yet culturally authentic design that resonated with international consumers during the Lunar New Year period.

Design brief

The custom emblem needed to:

  • Incorporate recognisable Lunar New Year elements while maintaining consistency with the Spencer Ranch brand identity.

  • Ensure the custom snake emblem was distinct and memorable across different cultural markets.

  • Present two unique colour variations that resonated with the wider consumer demographic via the packaging and product labels for both ginger and pineapple.

Design approach

Egghead Creative developed a custom snake emblem and matching product label template in two distinct colourways, ensuring visual harmony with traditional Lunar New Year aesthetics. The final designs featured:

  • Red and gold palettes symbolising prosperity and luck.

  • Bold typography and structured layouts aligning with the existing Spencer Ranch premium branding.

  • Pineapple and ginger imagery seamlessly integrated with the festive theme to enhance product recognition.

  • Localised tagline ensuring accessibility for international consumers.

Outcomes

The packaging made a strong impression in export markets, fitting right into Lunar New Year celebrations. The custom snake emblem and festive colour palette helped Carter & Spencer Group’s products stand out, reinforcing their presence during a high-sales season. The design struck the right balance between tradition and brand identity, making it easy for international consumers to recognise and connect with the product.
